Israeli Strike Murders Palestinian, Injures Another in Gaza

(MENAFN) A Palestinian was killed and another sustained serious injuries in an Israeli strike in Gaza City on Thursday, according to medical sources, marking what is described as another breach of a ceasefire agreement that has been in place since last October.

Medical sources told Anadolu that the incident occurred when a gathering of civilians near Al-Shawa Square in eastern Gaza City was targeted.

Palestinians have reported frequent violations of the ceasefire, which was intended to bring an end to Israel’s two-year war on the Gaza Strip.

Data from Gaza’s Health Ministry indicates that at least 677 Palestinians have been killed and 1,813 others injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began.

Since October 8, 2023, Israeli operations have reportedly resulted in more than 72,000 Palestinian deaths and around 172,000 injuries, in addition to extensive destruction that has impacted approximately 90% of the territory’s infrastructure.
