Israel Launches Airstrikes on Iran Amid Escalating Regional Tensions
The Israeli military said its air force struck what it described as military facilities belonging to the “Iranian regime,” without providing detailed locations or damage assessments.
Iranian state media reported explosions in Tehran, as well as in the cities of Tabriz and Isfahan.
An Iranian news agency also reported blasts near Karaj, while another media outlet said at least three explosions were heard in Isfahan alone.
The strikes followed hours after Iran launched several waves of missile attacks toward northern Israel. Those attacks came in response to an earlier Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, which Israel said targeted a Hezbollah command and planning center.
The exchange marks a further escalation in direct hostilities between the two sides, with both Israel and Iran carrying out strikes across multiple countries in the region within a short time frame.
