PractiTest Advances Intelligent Test Management with New Release Readiness Index

New QA Intelligence capability uses an innovative Opinionated Quality Model to interpret connected QA signals & answer a key question: Are we ready to release?

REHOVOT, ISRAEL, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- PractiTest today announced the Release Readiness Index, a new QA Intelligence capability that marks the next step in the company's vision for Intelligent Test Management - moving test management beyond organizing, executing, and reporting testing activity toward interpreting QA data and helping teams make better quality decisions.
The Release Readiness Index uses an Opinionated Quality Model to interpret coverage, execution, and defect risk together, giving teams a continuously updated view of where a release stands, what is affecting confidence, and what needs attention.

"Test management has spent decades getting better at organizing, executing, and reporting testing. That foundation still matters, but it's no longer enough," said Joel Montvelisky, CEO of PractiTest. "QA teams already have the data. The next step is helping them understand what that data actually means, so they can help stakeholders like Product and development make better decisions. That's the shift we're building toward with Intelligent Test Management."

From QA Data to Quality Decisions

Modern QA teams generate more signals than ever across user stories, tests, automation, executions, and defects. Yet when someone asks, "Are we ready to release?" teams are often still left to piece those signals together and draw the conclusion themselves.
A high pass rate means little if critical user stories remain insufficiently covered. Execution progress can hide recurring failures. A defect count alone does not explain the risk unresolved issues pose to the release.
The Release Readiness Index is designed to close this gap. It continuously interprets three dimensions of release health: Coverage Confidence, Execution Confidence, and Remaining Defect Risk. Their influence changes as the proprogresses, reflecting the fact that the evidence that matters most early in a release is not necessarily what matters most as the release approaches completion.
The Index also compares actual readiness progression with where the release is expected to be at that point in its timeline, helping teams identify gaps earlier and focus attention where it matters.

Beyond Dashboards: Opinionated Quality Models

The Release Readiness Index is an example of PractiTest's approach to Opinionated Quality Models. Instead of simply presenting QA metrics and leaving teams to interpret them, these models apply explicit logic to connected quality signals to help answer a specific decision-making question.
For release readiness, that means moving beyond "What does the dashboard show?" to "What does this mean?"
This approach is central to PractiTest's broader vision for Intelligent Test Management, where QA Intelligence builds on connected test management data to move from reporting, to interpretation, to decision support.
"When someone asks whether a release is ready, the answer shouldn't require hours of pulling together reports, dashboards, and spreadsheets," said Yaniv Iny, COO of PractiTest. "The Release Readiness Index gives teams a continuously updated view of where they stand, what's affecting confidence, and where attention is needed, so the release conversation can focus on decisions rather than assembling the data."

About PractiTest

PractiTest is an AI-powered Test Management and QA Intelligence platform that goes beyond execution to business answers. QA teams generate more signals than ever across requirements, tests, automation, executions, and defects, but the questions that matter most can still be difficult to answer: Are we ready to release? Are we covered where it matters? What's the real risk? What needs attention now?
PractiTest closes the gap between QA activity and quality decisions by connecting QA data and turning it into clear indicators, insights, and suggested actions. Built on a flexible data structure, agnostic integrations, SmartFox AI, and QA Intelligence, PractiTest helps teams know where they stand, what matters, and what to do next.
