Herzog Receives Final Election Results as Israeli Committee Rejects Fraud Claims
During the official ceremony, Committee Chairman Judge Noam Sohlberg warned that attempts to challenge the outcome could undermine public confidence in the electoral process.
"There are voices seeking to undermine the election results. This is a real danger," Sohlberg said.
He acknowledged that complaints concerning certain aspects of the voting process were still being examined but cautioned against casting doubt on ballots submitted by Arab citizens.
"We must not cast doubt on voting in Arab society, just as we must not cast doubt on any other group in Israeli society," he said.
Sohlberg emphasized that the certified outcome must be respected by all political parties and members of the public, describing the results as "binding on all of us."
Earlier on Wednesday, the committee formally approved the final election results following a vote in which 15 members supported the decision, two opposed it and 14 abstained.
The approval came after the committee announced that its examination had uncovered no evidence indicating that the integrity of the parliamentary elections had been compromised.
Netanyahu and right-wing parties within his political bloc had previously accused elements of Israel's Arab community of involvement in electoral fraud and alleged that votes had been manipulated.
The committee's decision to certify the results marks an official response to those allegations, although investigations into specific complaints related to the electoral process remain ongoing.
